Organizations and companies in North Carolina will give a local boost to the Startup America campaign with a statewide effort called Startup NC.

Events are set Monday in Durham and Charlotte to launch the program.

“North Carolina has an incredible history of innovation that has led it from being an agrarian leader to a hub of scientific and technological leadership,” said Scott Case, founder of America Online and chief executive officer of the Startup America Partnership. “Startup NC will be a catalyst to garner even more recognition for North Carolina’s world class entrepreneurs and startups.”

Project possibilities will be discussed at the events. Startup America is a nation-wide effort designed to boost new companies.

Each event also features a guest speaker. Louis Foreman of Edition Nation will speak in Charlotte. Derek Holt, managing director of national partnerships at Startup America, will speak in RTP.

The RTP event is set at the RTP Foundation.

Charlotte area entrepreneurs will gather at Packard Place.

Both events start at 6 p.m.

More than 350 people are already registered to attend. Registration remains open,
