Raleigh-Durham International Airport will begin offering Wi-Fi Internet access from Boingo Wireless next month.

Some wireless access will be free of charge. A premium offering will be available for secure networking, large file downloads and video streaming.

The agreement was announced Thursday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

“Boingo enables RDU to provide flexible Wi-Fi offerings to our travelers, while managing the influx of network traffic to ensure fast, reliable Internet connections for all of our guests,” said Duane Legan, RDU’s acting deputy airport director for information services.

Boingo offers service in many major airports around the world and operates more than 500,000 hotspots.

A free 45-minute session will be offered, although users will see what Boingo describes as a “brief advertisement.”

Hourly and day passes are available as is an unlimited program for access to all U.S. Boingo hotspots for $9.95 per month.
