Details are leaking around the world about Lenovo’s counter to Apple’s iPad in the booming tablet market.
The Verge website along with Tech in 5 say details about the new tablet were leaked to them.
“A leaked Lenovo document on the tablet, sent to us by a tipster, suggests it will be focused at business users and named the ThinkPad Tablet 2,” The Verge says.
Adds Tech in 5: “Thanks to an Anonymous source, we’ve recently come across some leaked specs of Lenovo’s latest and first upcoming Windows 8 tablet. Called The Windows 8 ThinkPad Tabet 2, this Lenovo manufactured tablet is meant to compete directly with Apple’s New iPad, with similar specs and dimensions, but with the added benefit of being able to load pro (desktop) apps on it.”
In Beijing on Monday, Lenovo also unveiled a lighter, quicker ThinkPad notebook computer inspired by the convenience of tablets and smartphones.
The world’s No. 2 PC manufacturer, which operates its executive headquarters in Morrisville, says the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon will go on sale later this month.
