KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Construction is now underway on a new Medical Office Building at the North Carolina Research Campus.

The 60,000 square foot building is being built near the Cabarrus Health Alliance building, which opened earlier this year.

It is located on Wellness Way near Dale Earnhardt Boulevard.

Half the building has already been leased to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Hospital Authority, which also is the parent of Carolinas Healthcare System.

“Carolinas Healthcare has been an active partner and supporter of the NCRC since its inception,” said Clyde Higgs, vice president of business development for the NCRC. “Having them on campus and able to interact at a higher level with all of our corporate and academic partners will further the translation of scientific discoveries involving diet and exercise and the prevention of disease to patients.”

Construction is expected to be finished by next spring.
