RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) recently began accepting applications for the newly-launched Betsy Y. Justus NCTA Founder’s Scholarship.

This scholarship is available to North Carolinians meeting the eligibility guidelines. Applications are due July 31, 2012.

Betsy Justus was NCTA’s founding CEO, a pioneer among women in technology, and a North Carolina leader. Upon her passing in summer 2011, NCTA raised initial funds to support an annual scholarship in her name.

This $1,000 grant is available to women and girls in North Carolina who plan to pursue a post-secondary academic path in the STEM fields. Criteria and instructions are outlined on the application form.

NCTA also is encourages additional donations of funds (as well as enhancements like tech products, gift cards, etc.) to increase the value of the scholarship to the eventual recipient.
