Verizon Wireless is expanding its “4G” broadband offering in the Triangle and also making available an in-home high-speed Internet access offering called HomeFusion to more residents.

The company said Wednesday it has expanded high-speed 4G service westward along the I-40/I-85 corridor between Chapel Hill and Mebane.

The 4G service known as LTE, or long term evolution, offers up to 10 times faster data speeds than other services.

Verizon Wireless is also expanding nationally, reaching 59 percent of North Carolina and 304 markets across the country.

Also available is an in-home wireless service called HomeFusion. It utilizes the 4G technology.
