“Flexibility is a key concept at this Cary, N.C.-based software company,” ComputerWorld says. “IT workers are encouraged to solve problems creatively, by approaching them from multiple angles and considering all options – including competitors’ products – to find the best solutions. Working arrangements are also flexible; options include flextime and telecommuting.”
SAS reaction:
“Our employee-manager relationships are built on trust – across all levels and divisions. When employees feel valued, they exceed expectations. Not only are our employees the source of SAS’ business success, they help make it a great place to work,” said Keith Collins, Chief Technology Officer for SAS. “Treating employees with respect fosters the environment of innovation and creativity that surfaces in our products and distinguishes us to our customers.”
About Quintiles, ComputerWorld noted:
“Challenges abound for IT pros at this biopharmaceutical services company in Research Triangle Park, N.C., as do rewards such as cash bonuses. In 2011, IT employees were recognized for launching Infosario, a suite of services that was developed in-house and is now offered as a product to business customers.”
Quintiles’ reaction:
“This recognition reflects the passion, pride and dedication our IT professionals have for the critical work we undertake each and every day” said Quintiles Chief Information Officer Richard Thomas. “The past year has been impressive in terms of the contribution the entire IT team has made to the success of our business, both inside the organization and with our customers. We are fortunate to have such a talented team of experts developing and supporting the latest technology and data solutions to meet the needs of a changing healthcare industry.”
