PowerSecure (Nasdaq: POWR) has landed orders totaling $15 million for a variety of its light-emitting diode products.

Three “major retailers” placed the orders, which are expected to be fulfilled this year, according to PowerSecure.

The retailers were not identified.

The orders cover a variety of “EfficientLights” that can reduce energy costs by 70 percent and last longer, the company says.

“As we anticipated, these new orders reflect retail customers’ expanded budgets in 2012 for LED lighting upgrades – a function of our expanded product line and the increasing confidence that the economy is beginning to firm,” said Sidney Hinton, PowerSecure’s chief executive officer, in a statement.
