Growing demand for Lenovo computers means more workers and warehouse space in North Carolina.

The world’s No. 2 PC maker is increasing the size of its distribution center in the Triad by more than a third and “likely” will add more workers, the Triad Business Journal reported Friday.

Lenovo is currently expanding the distribution center in Whitsett by 37,500 square feet to a total of 240,000 square feet. the newspaper said.

Some 160 people work there currently but Lenovo is expected to add more workers, the newspaper said, citing a company spokesperson.

Lenovo operates its executive headquarters in Morrisville and announced plans last year to add more employees as well as contractors to support its global growth and expansion efforts.
