AT&T customers and those people wanting faster speeds for their cell phones, tablets and wireless devices now have another choice across much of the Triangle.

The phone giant said Thursday that its so-called 4G service that offers data at broadband speeds is available in Raleigh, Cary and Chapel Hill.

Coverage will be added in Durham in coming months, according to an AT&T spokesperson.

“We continue to see demand for mobile broadband skyrocket, and our 4G LTE network in Raleigh and Chapel Hill responds to what customers want from their mobile experience and provides solutions — more, faster, on the best devices,” said Laurent Therivel, AT&T’s vice president and general manager of Mobility and Consumer Markets in the Carolinas.

AT&T’s service is also available in Charlotte.

AT&T offers a number of 4G devices that can utilize the network that is built on LTE (long-term evolution) technology.

They include:

• HTC Vivid
• Samsung Galaxy S™ II Skyrocket
• LG Nitro HD
• HTC Jetstream tablet
• Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9
• AT&T USBConnect Momentum 4G
• AT&T Mobile Hotspot Elevate 4G

Other providers also offer 4G service in the Triangle, including Verizon and Sprint.
