Telit Wireless Solutions has bought out Navman Wireless OEM Solutions in a $3 million deal scheduled to close Jan. 3.

Telit Wireless, whose North American headquarters is in Raleigh, is part of Telit Communications PLC (AIM:TCM). Its business is machine-to-machine (M2M) communications across a range of wireless technologies. Navman’s focus is global positioning system (GPS) technology.

“The Navman acquisition provides Telit access to new GPS customers and products beyond the traditional M2M industry,” Telit Communications CEO Oozi Cats said. “Navman’s reputation for delivering state-of-the-art GPS technology and the global reach of Telit’s sales and marketing organization put us in a strong position of growth in the GPS sector.”

This latest Telit acquisition comes on the heels of its March acquisition of Motorola Solutions’ M2M business and its July 2011 acquisition of Globalconect.

Telit has offices in Brazil, China, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Korea, Poland, Spain, the Republic of South Africa, Russia, Taiwan, Turkey and the UK.
