RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – SugarCRM, a fast-growing customer relationship management company, is opening a new office in Durham and is looking to hire additional sales and engineering staff.
SugarCRM touts itself as the “world’s fastest growing customer relationship management company.”
According to the company, it has more than 7,000 customers.
The California-based company picked Durham for its first U.S. office outside of its headquarters in Cupertino, Calif. It also has offices in Europe and Australia.
“The Raleigh office will focus on sales and support for local SugarCRM customers and over 60 channel partners in the eastern half of North America,” a spokesperson for the company says.
When asked why the company chose the Triangle, he noted: “Raleigh is a great place for recruiting engineers from top local universities.”
Sugar’s products fall into four categories:
- Sugar Professional
- Sugar Corporate
- Sugar Enterprise
- Sugar Ultimate.
Services are offered in four ways::
- Sugar On-demand (hosted in the SugarCRM cloud)
- Customer On-site (installed locally, behind a customer’s firewall)
- Partner On-demand (SugarCRM partners host for clients)
- Public Cloud (hosted in IBM SmartCloud Enterprise, Amazon EC2, Rackspace, or Microsoft Azure clouds)
Engineers in the Triangle will support the company’s other technical staff in Cupertino and Belarus.
Initial plans are to staff the Durham office with 12 people, but the company expects to double that number “soon,” a spokesperson for the company says. SugarCRM already has more than 200 employees worldwide.
Other offices are located in Munich, Paris, Cambridge in the UK, Sydney, Australia, and Minsk in Belarus.
The Durham office staff will report to Sugar’s headquarters.
Its local office is located at 4307 Emperor Boulevard, Suite 120 in Durham.
