Dennis Gillings, founder and the top executive of Quintiles, has reached a settlement with Joan Gillings in their acrimonious divorce case.
Terms were not disclosed.
Quintiles, the world’s largest life science services firm which is based in RTP, issued a brief statement when asked about the case.
“This is a personal and family matter, not related to Quintiles’ operations,” the company said.
“Therefore, it is inappropriate for Quintiles, as an organization, to comment.”
News of the divorce first surfaced a year ago.
“This is a personal, family matter, not for public comment,” Dennis Gillings said in a stagtement provided by the company at that time.
“However, I do not believe this action will have an impact upon Quintiles’ business or management of the company,” he added.
Gillings issued the statement after the Triangle Business Journal reported the divorce and said fallout from the case could affect the firm.
The case was being handled in Orange County. The Gillings had been married for 32 years, the newspaper noted.
Gillings founded Quintiles which teaching at UNC-CH.
