RALEIGH, N.C. – As part of its Connect a Million Minds (CAMM) initiative, Time Warner Cable (TWC) has launched Time Warner Cable’s Super Connector Search.

This new, user-generated contest spotlights TWC customers who are connecting young people in their communities to the wonders of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

By entering the contest, customers are eligible to win a starring role in a Connect a Million Minds commercial and up to $25,000 in grants for the STEM non-profit organization of their choice.

Now through Oct. 16, customers in Eastern North Carolina (which includes the greater Triangle area, Fayetteville, and Wilmington) are invited to enter TWC’s Super Connector Search by visiting

On the CAMM website, customers can share how they’ve connected young people in their lives to STEM by writing a brief essay and uploading a related photo. As part of the entry process, customers will name a STEM non-profit organization that they would like to support if chosen as a winner.

One winner from the Eastern North Carolina will be selected to star in a CAMM public service announcement, which will be produced by TWC and will run on air across the region. Additionally, the winner will receive a $5,000 grant for their selected non-profit organization.

But, the competition doesn’t stop there.

Starting Nov. 28, the public service announcements created for the each of the local contest winners will be featured on the CAMM website for public voting. The entry with the most votes will be named the “People’s Choice” and the STEM non-profit organization selected by the People’s Choice titleholder will receive an additional $10,000 grant.

In addition to the People’s Choice winner, a panel of judges will select a national winner from the pool of the local contest winners.

The national winner will be flown to Los Angeles or New York City, where they’ll participate in a television shoot for a CAMM public service announcement that will run throughout Time Warner Cable’s national footprint. In addition to this exciting on-air opportunity, the national winner of TWC’s Super Connector Search will receive a year of Time Warner Cable service and an additional $10,000 grant for their preferred STEM non-profit organization.
