Quintiles Transnational has given the University of Southern California funds to establish the Quintiles Chair in Pharmaceutical and Regulatory Innovation at the USC School of Pharmacy and to set up a Quintiles International Lecture Series, the school announced.

“The Quintiles Chair will allow USC to recruit a world-class faculty expert with the interdisciplinary knowledge of both health economics and regulatory policy,” said USC President C. L. Max Nikias.

The policy work will be house in USC’s Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics, a joint venture between the pharmacy school and the university’s School of Policy, Planning, and Development.

USC’s announcement did not disclose how much Quintiles donated for the faculty position and the lecture series.
