Blair Sheppard, Fuqua School of Business dean at Duke since 2007, is leaving that role.

Sheppard has decided to take a job involving fundraising and business development for Duke’s university in China. He will leave Fuqua as of Aug. 1, the university said Monday.

William Boulding, deputy dean at Fuqua, will replace Sheppard.

Sheppard is not severing his ties with Fuqua. He will remain a teacher in the school’s global MBA program and remains chairman of Duke CE, a corporate education initiative he launched at Duke. Sheppard was chief executive officer of the CE program before taking over as Fuqua’s dean.
