INC Research has closed on its $232 million acquisition of Kendle International.
The deal produced a combined company with 5,000 employees and operates in more than 100 countries. Also last month, INC purchased CRO Trident Clinical Research in Australia.
INC is owned by Avista Capital Partners and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. The private equity firm and the retirement plan bought INC last August for $600 million.
James Ogle is the chief executive officer of the combined venture.
“Biopharmaceutical companies of all sizes are relying on outsourcing partners earlier in the clinical trials process,” Ogle said in a statement. “This transaction has enhanced our value proposition to global drug developers and given us a broader range of local operations with global oversight, allowing us to maintain high standards and quality results.”
