“Fallen Earth,” a globally played apocalyptic massive multiplayer online game from Icraus Studios, has been acquired by California-based GamersFirst.
Fallen Earth is one of the crown jewels in the Triangle’s growing videogame industry.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The deal includes the transition of the 12-member Fallen Earth development team to Free2Play led by Marie Croall, the game’s top designer. They will join GamersFirst Reload Productions development team.
“By joining the Reloaded Productions team and becoming part of the GamersFirst family we can now continue delivering an uncompromising game experience for our die-hard fans,” Croall said. “Even better, the backing of an established global publisher also means we will share our game with millions of new players across the planet.”
Free2Play plans to convert Fallen Earth to a free game with a membership system.
