• RTP-based Semiconductor Research Corporation, UCLA design a new method for monitoring semiconductor manufacturing.
“The advance promises to provide semiconductor chip manufacturing cost and productivity savings up to 15 percent, potentially increase profit per chip by as much as 12 percent and ultimately lead to less expensive and higher performing electronics devices,” SRC says. Read more details here.
• Chapel Hill-based Pozen (Nasdaq: POZN) receives high marks for efficiency in report from SmarTrend.
“This evaluation was based on Revenue Per Employee (RPE) – a measure used by analysts to compare the productivity of companies in the same industry – and noted POZEN’s RPE as $2.28 million. The other companies included in the top-five list were Columbia Laboratories, Depomed, ViroPharma and Pain Therapeutics,” PPD noted. Read more details here.
