Fresh from closing on $8 million in venture capital financing, startup MaxPoint Interactive is expanding its management team and opening an office in Chicago.

The Cary-based company focuses on technology that matches online advertisers and consumers in real time at a neighborhood level. Last month, MaxPoint raised the new funding from Madrona Venture Group and Trinity Ventures. Trinity led a $3 million round in MaxPoint last September.

On Tuesday, MaxPoint named Chris Kozloski as vice president of sales, Lynn Vitello as vice president of marketing and Eric Thorne and Mark Ailsworth as sales directors in New York and Chicago respectively.

MaxPoint also plans to hire additional staff in Chicago.

“Over the past twelve months, MaxPoint has experienced an incredible amount of growth due in large part to a surge of retailers and brands that are looking to drive offline sales from online ads. With our new Series B funding, we made it our mission to find the best talent to support and bolster our growth,” said Joe Epperson, MaxPoint’s chief executive officer. “Chris, Lynn, Eric and Mark are all extremely talented and experienced individuals and we are eager to grow with them as part of our executive team.”

Kozloski once worked at DoubleClick.

Vitello was an executive with Motricity and Accipiter. She most recently worked for Quintiles.

Thorne has worked at AOL Time Warner and Scripps Networks as well as BET Networks where he was vice president for Eastern digital sales.

Ailsworth most recently operated a consultancy focused on sales.
