Red Hat (NYSE: RHT) is adding to its corporate board of 10 members with two additions, one of whom has been seated there before.
Dr. Steve Albrecht, a professor of accounting at Brigham Young University, is rejoining the board, the world’s top Linux software developer and services provider said Monday.
Also joining the board is Sohaib Abbasi, chairman and chief executive officer of Informatica (Nasdaq: INFA).
“Sohaib’s industry experience and strong track record of success in executive roles at leading technology companies will be a tremendous asset as we continue to drive innovation and work to meet and exceed customer expectations,” said H. Hugh Shelton, Red Hat’s chairman. “We are also thrilled and honored to have Dr. Albrecht rejoin Red Hat’s Board. Steve is a thought leader in the accounting field with an incredibly broad range of experience, and the value of his expertise and stewardship will be significant as we look to grow our business responsibly.”
Abbasi worked at Red Hat rival Oracle from 1994 through 2003. He became CEO at Informatica in 2004 and chairman in 2005.
Albrecht served on the Red Hat board from 2003 through 2009.
