A health services related company will announce Monday that it has picked Garner for a new facility and more than 250 jobs.

The firm’s name is not being disclosed due to a non-disclosure agreement, said Town of Garner Public Information Officer Rick Mercier.

However, the town did disclose that the company will invest $12 million in the project and that the average compensation will be $50,000.

“This is for new construction,” Mercier said.

No economic incentives are being offered to the company by either the town or Wake County, he added.

A formal announcement is set for Monday at 11 a.m. at the Town of Garner Council Chambers.

The company’s decision to move forward with the project came after recent legislation passed by the General Assembly that eliminated the so-called “Red Route” option for an extension of I-540. One of the two sites the firm was considering for the site would have been affected by the “Red Route,” Mercier said.

Construction is expected to begin by May, Mercier added.
