CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The head of the U.S. Small Business Administration is visiting Charlotte to highlight the work of a local company.

SBA Administrator Karen Mills will visit LEAD Technologies, Inc. on Wednesday. LEAD used an SBA loan to expand its facility and export its products. The SBA says that loan helped save or create 33 jobs, and the agency wants to highlight how a local small business is working to build the nation’s technological infrastructure.

LEAD specializes in digital imaging tools for a variety of industries. The company produces tools to handle video streaming, high-speed scanning and document imaging.

LEAD was founded in 1990 and is privately held.

Moe Daher and Rich Little founded the company based on inventions of Daher in digital imaging and compression.

Its products are known as LEADTOOLS. The company describes them as “a family of comprehensive toolkits designed to help programmers integrate raster, document, medical, multimedia, vector and Internet imaging into their applications quickly and easily.”
