Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) will spell out its plans to meet growing demand for delivery of video over networks at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
John Chambers, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer, will lead a press conference at 4 p.m. EST.
The company says Cisco will unveil its plans for “helping service providers and content providers meet the challenges and opportunities presented by the convergence of pay TV, online and on-demand video.”
To help promote the event, Cisco launched a video on YouTube that it calls “Obsolete TV Support Group.”
Cisco, which employs more than 4,000 people at its campus in RTP, already offers a videoconference service called Telepresence, offers home videoconferencing and now makes the Flip digital camera.
