CHARLOTTE, N.C. – BAE Systems will open a center for its human resources and finance operations in Charlotte, creating 176 jobs, Gov. Bev Perdue announced Thursday.

If BAE Systems achieves and maintains the jobs target, North Carolina will rebate to the company $1.9 million in state personal income tax withholdings through a Job Development Investment Grant.

“The consolidation of all of our company-wide processes and services for Human Resources and Finance into one shared services center is essential to improving performance, reducing costs and improving competitiveness,” said Linda Hudson, BAE Systems’ chief executive officer.

The jobs will pay an average of $51,392 a year plus benefits.

The company is based in Arlington, Va.
