CARY, N.C. – Never fear, “Gears of War” videogame purists who prefer hands-on control of all guns and other weapons – Epic Games isn’t linking its forthcoming edition to the Kinect motion controller.

So says Epic’s creative guru Cliff Bleszinski.

Following a report at a videogame website that “Gears of War 3” would include hands-off action for the Xbox 360 Kinect, Bleszinski tweeted:

“No Kinect in Gears of War 3.”

Succinct and to the point – that’s what Twitter and tweets are supposed to be all about.

“Gears” will be released in 2011. Its two predecessors have sold millions of copies, making Bleszinski and Epic two of the hottest properties in the videogame business.

The latest title is among the nominees for “Most Anticipated Game” at the 2010 Vigeo Game Awards show on Dec. 11.
