PlayBook goes toe-to-toe with iPad in RIM promotion video

InformationWeek reported Tuesday that research in Motion has out a video comparing performance of its Playbook tablet and that of Apple’s iPad.

Not surprisingly, PlayBook wins.

“RIM’s video demonstration is an interesting one. RIM set up a PlayBook and an iPad on a high-speed Wi-Fi network and ran a series of tests, including raw web site rendering, Acid3, and JavaScript,” InformationWeek’s Eric Zeman writes.

“RIM says that it cleared the cache and cookies for both devices, though it doesn’t do this on screen,” according to Zeman. “It also doesn’t demonstrate with authority that both devices are indeed connected to the same Wi-Fi network and not a 3G network.”
