The high-tech sector increased its hiring for IT jobs last month, but financial services hiring fell, and the statewide picture remained unchanged from September, according to a report Monday from TEKsystems and SkillPROOF for the North Carolina Technology Association.

Employers were uncertain about the prospects for a fast recovery before the Nov. 2 elections, NCTA said. “We believe the IT job market in North Carolina will remain flat for the remainder of the year.”

The end-of-year holiday season traditionally is not good for hiring, the association explained.

The total of IT openings in all sectors stuck at 4,240, the same as in September, according to the report.

A list of the kinds of the number of various job openings available and the skill sets most in demand in October’s postings is available.
