Fortinet, a California-based provider of network security technology, is denying a report that with IBM (NYSE: IBM).
Fortinet (Nasdaq: FTNT) issued a statement Monday saying that a Bloomberg report was incorrect and asked that the news service “retract or correct the story.”
“Fortinet’s policy is not to comment on rumors, and Fortinet declined to respond to rumors on this subject,” the company said. “Nevertheless, Fortinet believes that investors need to be aware of the error and today announced that it is focused on building a strong independent company and is not in acquisition discussions with IBM.”
IBM employs some 10,000 people in the Triangle area.
