, a developer of software for micro-electromechanical systems, or MEMS, has hired a veteran executive to lead its sales and business development efforts.

Tom Flynn joins Coventor from Ansoft, a supplier of electromagnetic software. He will be based in Coventor’s Silicon Valley officer.

The company also said it plans to expand its to MEMS-enabled electronic products.

Earlier in his career, Ansoft worked for Gould Electronics, GenRad and IBM. He earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts.

Coventor also has offices in Massachusetts and France.
