Raleigh-based life sciences services firm expands to U.K.

, a provider of services to life sciences and health care firms, is expanding.

The privately held Raleigh-based firm is opening an office in the United Kingdom and has hired a veteran life sciences executive to lead the operation.

James McDermott has joined d-Wise as president of d-Wise U.K.

d-Wise, which currently has some 20 employees in the U.S., plans to add 12 more workers in the U.K., a company spokesperson told Local Tech Wire and WRAL.com.

“Timing worked in our favor to combine opening the d-Wise UK and the addition of James as the UK office general manager,” said d-Wise President Chris Olinger. “James possesses the industry experience and the rare blend of skills to deliver d-Wise’s high quality solutions.”

McDermott was a co-founder of Quanticate, a clinical research organization.

d-Wise provides clients technology and services with an emphasis on data management.
