The striking and massive headquarters campus of bankrupt Nortel is being acquired by Canada’s Department of National Defense, according to the Ottawa Citizen.

A deal could be announced as early as Monday.

The Canadian complex was once the humming hub of a massive global enterprise.

Now, Nortel is little more than a shell, having liquidated most of its assets.

The networking giant also operated a large campus in RTP, where 8,000 people worked at the height of the telecom and “dot com” boom.

The Canadian newspaper says that Nortel hopes to get $150 million for the headquarters complex.
