For the first time, Duke University’s MURDOCK Study recently enrolled employees at a car dealership.

Last week, 33 volunteers at Modern Nissan/Hyundai in Concord joined the study, named for founder David Murdock.

The additions will help diversify the study’s enrolled population with more men, officials said.

Currently, men represent only 34 percent of the MURDOCK Study registry, but about half of the population of Kannapolis and Cabarrus County is male.
