, a global provider of life sciences services, is launching a joint venture targeting pharmaceutical sales force and sales promotion outsourcing in Egypt.
The Triangle-based company will work with Health Kare Pharma International and Ramco Import and Export.
The effort in Egypt is the latest in a series of initiatives by Quintiles targeting growth through partnerships and joint risk sharing as part of its “New Health” effort. Also this week, Quintiles said it would on a potential new cancer drug.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The joint venture will be based in Cairo and will known as HKPI-JV. It will launch operations in the fourth quarter.
“We have allied with these biopharma companies to expand our commercial service offerings into a new market that is an attractive point of entry into the region,” said Rich Pilnik, president of Global Commercial Solutions for Quintiles. “The biopharma market in Egypt has tremendous growth potential and biopharma customers in the region now have a resource that brings the best of both local and global expertise to the table.”
