RALEIGH, N.C. – Leaders of the will gather at Wake Tech Community College on Thursday and Friday to kick off a statewide program focused on training of workers in the “green” economy.

The event launches the colleges’ Code Green Super Curriculum Improvement Project (CIP).

Five areas of emphasis for the project are: building, energy, transportation, environment and engineering technology.

“The Code Green Super CIP will explore the best ways to provide that training as well as the highly-specialized credentials a greener workplace will demand,” the NCCC says.

Wake Tech is the lead college for the project.

Each project are has a lead college:

Transportation – Blue Ridge CC

Energy – Central Carolina CC

Engineering – Central Piedmont CC

Environment – Davidson County CC

Building – Wilson CC
