RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – UNC-TV has partnered with MCNC to host North Carolina’s first-ever PublicMediaCamp (PubCampNC) on Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at MCNC’s RTP campus.

Based on a national initiative that incorporates the theme of “strengthening public media’s relationship with the public through the creation of collaborative projects,” will employ an “unconference” format that enables participants to plan their own conference sessions and schedule.

Using online tools – wikis, blogs, social media, video streaming and more – the free event will bring together a diverse group that includes members from North Carolina’s university and community college systems, public broadcasting and communications organizations, community organizers and activists, non-profit organizations, and technology firms.

Now that the event is sold out on-site, UNC-TV and MCNC will host two interactive remote locations.

PubCampNC will extend its reach to North Carolina’s mountain and coastal regions by employing two interactive video connections at Elizabeth City State University and UNC-Asheville. Those interested in participating remotely can . These locations will be wired with a live Web feed from the main event in RTP, which also will allow remote participants to ask questions and interact with others.
