DURHAM, N.C. – Charles Johnson, chief medical officer at APT Pharmaceuticals, is joining Inspire Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ISPH) as its CMO as of Sept. 15.
Johnson also will act as Inspire’s executive vice president for research and development.
A 13-year veteran of Genetech, Johnson has more than 30 years of experience in clinical practice, academia and the pharmaceutical industry.
Johnson also is a former director of the cystic fibrosis center at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. He earned his medical degree in South Africa.
Inspire is actively involved in cystic fibrosis research.
