RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – It’s not too late to register for the chance to meet and talk entrepreneurship with Mark Cuban, the “dot com” billionaire owner of the NBA Dallas Mavericks who also is an investor in startups.

Cuban headlines Local Tech Wire’s Executive Exchange event on venture capital and entrepreneurship in Durham at the American Tobacco Historic District on Thursday. Southern Capitol Ventures and Intersouth Partners, two of the region’s top VC firms, are working with LTW in putting on the event.

The program features an in-depth panel discussion with Cuban and three successful Triangle entrepreneurs with Intersouth’s Mitch Mumma serving as the moderator.

Cuban is the center of attention, however. He will meet with executives at a private breakfast starting at 9 a.m. in the Bay 7 venue and then be available to talk with attendees during an extended networking session.

The formal program begins at 11:30 with the panel discussion followed by lunch.

In addition to Cuban, the panelists are:

• Rich Lee, founder and chief executive officer of Hosted Solutions

• Aaron Houghton, co-founder and chairman of iContact

• Mike Doernberg, chief executive officer of ReverbNation

Cuban then will deliver a keynote address around 1 p.m. He will be introduced by Paul Levering, chief executive officer of FeatureTel, one of the event’s sponsors.

The audience then will have the opportunity to ask questions about investing, entrepreneurship, sports and even more in an extended Q-and-A session.

A mixer from 3 to 4 p.m. will close the day.

Cost of the luncheon event is $50.
