RALEIGH, N.C. – Students interested in a life science career of biotech manufacturing are receiving some hands-on experience this week at a “boot camp.”

The hands-on experience is taking place at the Capstone Center on N.C. State’s Centennial Campus.

Wake Tech, the state community colleges’ and NCSU are putting on the camp.

Students who recently received an associate’s degree in biotech and others completing the program will produce products in a simulated environment and also learn to work in a cleanroom.

The day-long sessions run through Friday.

Students involved are from Alamance, Brunswick, Central Carolina, Fayetteville Tech, Johnston, Pitt, Vance Granville and Wake Tech.
