RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – A group of IBM (NYSE: IBM) workers in Japan have lost a near-decade long fight against the company in a lawsuit over their transfer to another company.

Kyodo News International that the court upheld lower court rulings in favor of IBM.

Six former IBMers sued after IBM and Hitachi formed a joint venture in 2002. The group was transferred to the new company. They filed suit, seeking to nullify the transfer and also seeking compensation.

IBM employs some 10,000 people in RTP.
