DURHAM, N.C. – Benjamin Yerxa, head of research and development at (Nasdaq: ISPH) is stepping down as of Aug..1.

Inspire announced Yerxa’s departure after the markets closed on Thursday as part of a reorganization of its management team.
Yerxa will act as a consultant with Inspire through the end of the year.

As part of the reorganization, Inspire said it would broaden the management team with a executive vice president for research and development and a senior vice president and chief technical officer.

Adrian Adams, who recently took over as chief executive officer at Inspire, said the changes in management were based on a review he has conducted during his four-month tenure.

“The actions we are taking provide the organizational structure and additional leadership needed to achieve our strategic objectives and drive shareholder value,” Adams said in a statement.

• Andrew I. Koven, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative and Legal Officer
• Joseph K. Schachle, Executive Vice President, Pulmonary Business

• Francisca K. Yanez, Vice President, Human Resources
