MORRISVILLE, N.C. – not only has a new name but also a new home.

The wireless technology company formerly known as Harris Stratex Networks said Wednesday it was moving its headquarters to Santa Clara, Calif. From Morrisville.

Aviat (Nasdaq: AVNW) changed its name in January.

The company moved into a new 128,000 square foot facility in Santa Clara.

“Aviat Networks executives selected this particular facility due to lower operational costs and the willingness of DJM Capital Partners, the building owners, to meet the company’s environmental needs,” the company said.

Aviat has offices in California as well as Georgia and elsewhere around the globe.

"Over the last 20 years, Aviat Networks has built a solid reputation in Silicon Valley as a leader of high quality and innovative mobile wireless solutions,” said Aviat Chief Executive Officer Harald Braun in a statement.

“As a leading hub for research, cutting edge technology and investment, we believe this is the best place to relocate our headquarters," he added.

Aviat focuses on wireless networks and technology such as WiMAX and LTE for use in wireless 4G broadband.
