KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Developers of the luxury golf community at the have sold their first lot, leased their first home and plan a new townhome community in Kannapolis.

The residential real estate market near the Research Campus has improved, said Doug Sadosuk of Castle & Cooke Carolinas Realty.

Castle & Cooke’s proposed townhome development called Irish Glen on West C Street near Glenn Avenue will offer more than 200 homes starting at $140,000, Sadosuk said.

Billionaire Dole Food Co. chairman David Murdock owns both Castle & Cooke and the Research Campus, a life sciences complex in downtown Kannapolis.
