KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — The first university to join the is the last public university to have a permanent home there.

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, which opened a business program in Kannapolis 2006 and a scientific program in 2007, recently moved into the campus centerpiece Core Laboratory Building.

Dr. Cory Brouwer will direct UNC-Charlotte’s scientific work in Kannapolis.

"I never thought I’d find the combination of agriculture work and large pharma in one place," he told a crowd gathered on the third floor of the Core Lab Building. "This is a fantastic opportunity to do that."
