RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Privately held , a global leader in providing upgrading technology for networks, has hired a technology veteran as its chief financial officer.
Vincent Zumbo joins Hatteras with 25 years of experience in working with telecommunications, software, software-as-a-service and venture capital backed firms.
Hatteras, which has raised some $89 million in venture capital since its launch in 2001, expanded aggressively until late 2008 when it cut some of its executives and 20 of 80 employees. It expanded or established a presence in several countries around the world, selling networking equipment that enables high-speed, or Ethernet capability, over traditional copper-based networks.
“Our dynamic company growth and accelerating momentum in the Ethernet services market necessitated the expansion of Hatteras’ fiscal leadership team,” said Kevin Sheehan, chief executive officer at Hatteras Networks. “Vince’s extensive real-world experience in the telecom and technology space, combined with his expertise in fiscal management and his ability to successfully execute on plans and programs including IPO and M&A exit strategies brings significant value to the company. We look forward to having Vince as part of our team.”
Zumbo most recently served as CFO at Fortisphere, a developer of virtualization management software. He earned an accounting degree at Siena College in New York.
