WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – , a provider of data storage and related technology services, is building a new 20,000 square foot data center at its 80-acre campus.

The center is located 18 feet under ground in what the company describes as a “secure, blast-resistant bunker.”

Financing for the $9 million project is being provided by NewBridge Bank, the company said Thursday.

The facility will “more than double” its capacity for hosting data networks, DataChambers said. It has more than 110 customers from across 28 states.

“We’ve been pleased with the progress of the project, which positions us for significant growth,” said Nicholas Kottyan, DataChambers’ chief executive officer, in a statement. “We expect to be up and running by early summer.”
