RESEARCH TECHNOLOGY PARK, N.C. — The top executives of several corporations, including Red Hat and Duke Energy, and the state treasurer are among speakers who will be on hand at the CED Venture Conference in Pinehurst next week.

The featured speakers panel during the event April 20-22 will address Venture Capital: Trends and Innovations. The speakers will be Dana Callow, managing general partner at Boston Milennia Partners; Brad Feld, managing director of the Foundry Group; Patrick Kerins, general partner at NEA; Noel Fenton, general partner at Trinity ventures; and Todd Forrest, managing director and CFO at Hummer Windblad Venture Partners.

During the event, Red Hat President and CEO Jim Whitehurst, Duke Energy President and CEO James Rogers; N.C. State Treasurer Janet Cowell; and Jaime Ellerton, president of the Gomez Division of Compuware will address the attendees at the Pinehurst Resort.

CED has selected 28 startup firms to present their work. They are grouped into late-stage life-science companies, late-stage technology, early stage life science and early stage technology.

On Wednesday, investors who are attending and entrepreneurs will each have their own luncheon panels.
