MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Growth has iContact on the move from Durham to a 70,000-square-foot space once used by Lenovo.

The company, which provides e-mail marketing services to small and medium-sized businesses, foresees its 195-employee work force growing to 500 and does not have space where it is now, co-founder and Chairman Aaron Houghton said.

The move is slated to happen in October.

CEO Ryan Allis said it’s a good sign.

"Our vision is to build a great global company based here in North Carolina," he said. "We started out in two rooms in downtown Chapel Hill in 2003. We moved to Durham in 2004 when we reached 12 employees. Our new headquarters location in Morrisville will be a great home to achieve our vision and continue our rapid growth to 500 team members and beyond."

The company serves more than 450,000 users nationwide.

The building is at 5221 Paramount Parkway in Duke Realty’s Perimeter Park.

The move by iContact came as good news in a real estate market that is only slowly recovering from the recession.

"We had agreed to a buyout for three floors with Lenovo late last year, but had not expected to find a new tenant of this stature for at least 24 months," Duke Senior Vice President Jeff Sheehan said.
