DURHAM, N.C. – Cynthia Marshall, president of AT&T North Carolina, is the new chair person for the

Marshall, who lives in Cary, has led AT&T’s N.C. operations since January 2007. She has worked nearly three decades in the telecommunications business.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the North Carolina Chamber at such a critical time for our state and nation,” Marshall said in a statement. “The Chamber’s focus will continue to be on economic recovery, job creation and improving our schools so students graduate prepared to lead and succeed in the global economy.”

Other Chamber officers include:

• First Vice Chairman Stan Kelly of Charlotte, Regional President, Carolinas Community Banking, Wachovia – a Wells Fargo Company
• Second Vice Chairman Rick Anicetti of Salisbury, President and CEO, Food Lion
• Treasurer Frank Holding of Raleigh, Chairman and CEO, First Citizens Bank
• Immediate Past President Robert Stolz of Charlotte, CEO North America, The Wurth Group

Marshall was first vice chair last year. Kelly was second vice chair.
