RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – AT&T, Verizon and other wireless service providers may have a competitor in the next generation broadband, or 4G, mareketplace.
Stacey Higginbothm, writing at emerging technology Web site Gigaom, says Harbinger Capital Partners is planning a network based on a Long Term Evolution (LTE) based service that will be delivered in part over satellite spectrum.
The intent is to offer an “open wholesale wireless network,” Higginbotham notes.
